Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Egeria, an iOS app that offers a daily oracle, a private journal, and a reflective decision companion. Egeria is operated by Jessyka Mathews, a sole proprietor (the "Operator," "we," "us"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What Egeria is — and is not

Egeria is for reflection, inspiration, and entertainment. Its cards, numbers, moon phases, and written reflections are tools to help you hear yourself. Egeria does not predict the future and is not a substitute for professional advice — medical, psychological, legal, financial, or otherwise. Decisions you make are your own. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Egeria on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the App Store Terms of Service.

Your content

Everything you write in Egeria is yours. It is stored on your device (and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud). We do not access, collect, or claim any rights to it. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Egeria Pro subscription

Egeria offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions ("Egeria Pro"):

The specific features included in Pro may change over time as the app evolves.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app except as permitted by law; use the app for any unlawful purpose; or attempt to disrupt or misuse it. Egeria is a single-user, on-device app with no accounts and no user-to-user features.

Availability

We aim to keep Egeria working well, but we provide it "as is" and do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Features may be added, changed, or removed. On-device AI reflections require a supported device and are provided as-is.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Egeria is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any decisions you make in reliance on the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under applicable law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the date above and post the new version here and in the app. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection laws of your place of residence.
